Housekeeper/Direct Care Support

Role: Housekeeper/Direct Care Support 
Term: Full-time/permanent
Location:  Onsite in Fredonia, NY
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm
Compensation:  starting at $16.73 Per Hour with excellent growth potential

Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Environmental Services
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and office spaces
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, laundry, and waste disposal
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and infection control standards
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and household inventory
  • Interact respectfully and compassionately with residents, supporting a therapeutic and recovery-oriented environment
Direct Care Support (Backup Role)
  • Provide coverage and support to Direct Care Attendants during staffing needs or high-demand periods
  • Assist with supervision of residents and ensure safety within the facility
  • Provide coverage with scheduling, executing and following up on all resident psychiatric and medical appointments as well as assisting residents with personal care as needed.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed (e.g., laundry, light housekeeping guidance, organization).

Medication Support (if trained and authorized)
  • Assist with medication administration in accordance with facility policies and state regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of medication support activities
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of medications

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred, ideally in healthcare or residential settings
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions is a plus
  • Ability to complete required training in medication administration (if applicable)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of basic cleaning techniques and infection control practices
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to working with vulnerable populations

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a residential mental healthcare setting
  • May require standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive physical tasks
  • May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and bodily fluids (with proper PPE provided)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
